The Labrador Inuit Health Commission (LIHC)
is committed to improving the health of Labrador Inuit. It is
responsible for the administration and delivery of programs
in the areas of mental health, community health and safety,
addictions counseling, public health, non-insured health benefits
and family services. Based on a participatory model, its five-year
plan includes an annual regional health conference to further
one of its primary goals: to promote community awareness, consultation,
involvement and control in all health matters, including the
development and delivery of health programs.
