Fisheries
Labrador Inuit rely on multi-species fisheries for income and for subsistence food. The Land Claims Agreement includes provisions for a Nunatsiavut led fishery. To that end, the Nunatsiavut Government is working to consolidate its interests in inshore and offshore operations and organizations, held formerly with the Labrador Inuit Development Corporation, Torngat Fish Producers Cooperative Ltd., and in various other enterprises.
