Registrar of Beneficiaries
An accurate register of beneficiaries to the Agreement is crucial for Nunatsiavut Government. It is required for preparing voters lists for elections, defining and delivering Inuit specific programming, and negotiating financial agreements with the federal and provincial governments.

It is the responsibility of every beneficiary to ensure they provide Nunatsiavut Government with current contact information for themselves and their families.

Eligibility criteria and applications may be found here.

When the Agreement came into effect, the Nunatsiavut Government became responsible for co-coordinating enrolment. Enrolment Committees are set up in Nain; Hopedale; Makkovik and Postville; and Rigolet and Upper Lake Melville. Each Committee is responsible for compiling a preliminary list of beneficiaries and delivering that list to the Nunatsiavut Government. There is an Enrolment Appeal Commission. The Nunatsiavut Government has published a register of beneficiaries, which is to be used for the Nunatsiavut elections in 2006. The register must be updated at least once a year. Once the final register is in place, the Enrolment Committees will be dissolved. However, to ensure that enrolment is updated and runs smoothly, a Membership Committee will be established in each region and a Labrador Inuit Membership Appeal Board will be established.
