Program overview

The department is pleased to support the efforts of Labrador Inuit pursuing post-secondary education through our Post-Secondary Student Support Program (PSSSP).

Funding through the PSSSP is available to all beneficiaries of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement (LILCA) to assist them in gaining access to post-secondary education to obtain the qualifications and skills they need to pursue their careers. The PSSSP provides both financial and non-financial assistance to eligible students. Financial assistance includes tuition & manditory fees, textbook costs, travel expnses, monthly living allowance and tutorial assistance. Some restrictions apply, please see the Student Handbook for more detailed information.

The PSSSP also supports academic achievement by offering a number of scholarships and awards, dependent on availability of funds each year.

The PSSSP also offers non-financial assistance such as counseling sessions as part of the application process, and on-going liaison with instructors and institutes regarding student progress.
