Like any organization, we depend on our income, people, and communication systems to ensure we operate effectively. As part of their responsibilities, the various divisions within this department ensure our operations continue smoothly.
Aksunai! The Department of Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology is responsible for all areas within the Nunatsiavut Government regarding finance and funding, the management of the Nunatsiavut Civil Service, as well as information technology. The department is organized into three divisions: Finance, Human Resources, and Information Technology.
Under the direction of the Minister of Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology, the department includes the Deputy Minister, the Director of Information Technology, two managers of Human Resources, and an Assistant Controller.
It is the department’s priority to ensure beneficial financing including the operating budgets and investments for the Nunatsiavut Government. The department is also responsible for hiring the employees of the Nunatsiavut Civil Service, with adherence to the Labrador Inuit Constitution, and to ensure effective internal and external communication among Nunatsiavut Government employees and Beneficiaries of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement with the information technology department.
