Implementation of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims AgreementHolding all accountable
In order to realize our goals for Labrador Inuit, it is imperative that all parties to the LILCA (federal, provincial and Nunatsiavut governments) fulfill their respective obligations under the Agreement.
Nunatsiavut Affairs oversees implementation of the LILCA through:
- Negotiations as required with other parties to resolve outstanding issues
- Participation on the LILCA Implementation Committee
- Monitoring and oversight of implementation activities including the establishment and operation of boards and committees required under the Agreement such as the Torngat Wildlife and Fisheries Co-management Boards and Regional Planning Authority.
